This season is inspired by a reflection:

When we penetrate through the gender discipline condensed in the sweat of an underground boxing ring, deconstruct the patriarchal spectrum reflected in the glass walls of an office building, and gaze at the androgynous worship emanating from the metal equipment of a shooting club – in the folds of the topology of power, a certain obscured female power is awakening. When we give up chasing the binary cage of being ‘stronger than men’, the tenderness and resilience of the female essence shines through. Female power should not be a mirror reflection of the traditional aesthetics of violence, but a phenomenologically restored theory of female existence!

With 27QUAI GROSMOTT, we want to record the strength of women hidden in the folds of life.

You don’t have to compare yourself with anyone, you don’t have to be vocal, it’s the flexibility that grows naturally from day to day perseverance.

For this Training Traces series we focus our perspective on one of the most representative female professions: the dancer.

Ballet dancers measure the laws of gravity with their ribbon shoes, pole dancers deconstruct vertical power with their inner thigh bruises – two seemingly opposing body grammars that come to an understanding at the point where sweat and salt crystallize.

Strength comes in a million shapes and sizes when sweat and bruises are turned into physical narratives. We dismantle the musculature of their training and weave the explosive power of the moment they take to the air into the folds of their shoes.

Lace is not a symbol of fragility, it marks the lines of breath on the skin; the hybridization of fabric and rubber is like a workplace woman’s law of survival of the strong and the soft. Those neglected feminine qualities are the soft armor that breaks through the frame. True female strength does not need to be publicized, it lives in the burlap of life, in the folds that refuse to be compromised over the years.
